Delaware E-Z Pass TranspondersHow and Where to Apply for the Device and Save Valuable Time
Commuters who frequently travel on the Delaware Turnpike or cross the Delaware Memorial Bridge understand the benefits of having the time-saving E-Z Pass device.
With more and more commuters driving on the busy highways, sitting in the cash lanes to pay the toll is a huge time waster. The Delaware Department of Transportation understands this and offers several ways for commuters to apply for and obtain an E-Z Pass tag. Before applying for the device, however commuters must decide whether to apply for a commercial or a personal E-Z Pass account. Individual E-Z Pass accounts apply to vehicles that are individually owned or leased and limited to private passenger cars, vans, pickup trucks, RVs and motorcycles. Individual account holders can have up to 8 transponder devices. Commercial E-Z Pass accounts apply to vehicles owned and registered under a business name. Vehicle types include those that qualify for a personal account plus vehicles with more than two axels, and over 7,000 pound gross vehicle weight. Additionally, commercial accounts are not subject to the 8-transponder limitation. Once commuters determine which account to apply for, they have several ways in which to apply: Apply for E-Z Pass OnlineIndividual commuters can access the Delaware E-Z Pass website and apply online.
